Harrison and Star, a New York City-based pharmaceutical advertising agency seeks a motivated full-time Director of Web and Digital Development for its interactive/digital group. The Director will supervise and grow a talented team of developers; be responsible for the production process within the group, including establishing policies, standards, and procedures; and work with the other departments in the agency to ensure quality delivery of products.
Projects include promotional product.com web sites, heavily data-driven information management web sites, promotional micro sites, and email blasts and desktop applications.
Skill set should include a minimum of 5 years experience coding and developing; strong understanding of analytics, CMS and SEO; mastery of production and client deployment processes; at least two years of team management experience; and, above all, excellent thoroughness and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
• Management of development staff
• Project Estimation
• Training and education of staff and agency members
• Strategic and tactical brainstorming for new business and existing clients
o Web, mobile, desktop and convention
• Technical Project Management
o Innovation insight
o Internal workflow and processes
o Software development methodologies
Technologies/Applications currently used and/or needed moving forward by web department staff:
• Classic ASP 3.0, ASP.NET 1.1, ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET 3.5
• JSP
• Action Script
• SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008
• Oracle
• Websphere (or comparable Application Server)
• HTML/Javascript/CSS
• Javascript Libraries (jQuery [required] and some understanding of Prototype, MooTools, Dojo, etc.)
• AIR (optional, but current approach being used for desktop applications)
• Java
• IIS 5.0, 6.0
